Audrey processes the abuse her mother suffered at the hands of an ex-boyfriend
by writing about it for a high school poetry slam.

Moni Vargas is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker with experience directing
and producing an array of streaming and broadcast content, including Red
Table Talk. Moni currently runs Nuyorktricity with her partner Michael
Vargas, an LA-based production company committed to inclusivity while
amplifying the stories of their creative community. Their original series,
Friends We Love, has screened at the Brooklyn Museum, Bronx Museum
and film festivals around the world.

Mae is a preteen girl at a sleepover who feels lonely and left out when all her friends pay more attention to their digital devices than each other. Outcast from her cousin's party, 10-year-old Mae creates Frolic from ink and cardboard, then Frolic creates mayhem.

Shauna is cruising through grade four miles ahead of classmates she can barely tolerate. Amid some less than cool stuff at home, the clearly laid out rules of school make it a refuge for this tiny perfectionist. But now that a new kid is wowing everyone with moronic lies - punishment-free! - Shauna seeks revenge on ll liars of the world via this one easy target.

Writer/director Chell Stephen was raised in Toronto on healthy doses of music videos, The X-Files and teen dance movies - influences which shaped her debut short film CRYSTAL (SXSW, 2014) a dark comedy about a be-spandexed 17-year-old jerk. Its follow up, Shauna is a Liar, is based on a true story from Chell's youth and features poppy camp visuals, a dash of surreal, plus an earnest beating heart at the center- aka Chell's wheelhouse. Chell was a Sundance Fellow selected to participate in the 2017 New Voices Episodic Short Form Lab with her series, Kidnapping Brihanna and after completing the 2019 WB Directors' Workshop she will direct an episode of CW's Riverdale this fall. She also directs fashion and music content for brands including L'Oreal, JanSport, Fendi and Givenchy while repping the motherland from "fourth largest Canadian city," Los Angeles.

When a little girl discovers a homeless woman in her backyard she invites her inside for a play date, which goes unnoticed by her distracted parents.

Paige Morrow Kimball began her production career in the unscripted television
arena and later established herself in the scripted world, directing films for HBO’s
iconic show, SESAME STREET. Her highly acclaimed social justice short film, PLAY
DATE, won seven festival awards and is now a homelessness awareness artseducation
program for middle schools. She directed a large budget comedy webseries,
EXILED OUT EAST and wrote and directed an award-winning comedy short,
ENDING UP, which was selected as ShortsHD’s Movie of the Week and distributed on
ROKU’s ZPTV. Paige’s extensive directing and producing credits in unscripted TV,
include: HBO’s PROJECT GREENLIGHT, ABC’s OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, FXs NASCAR
DRIVER. Paige is a participant in the WEFORSHE Program and was a participant in
the CBS Directors Program, The Sony Directors Program and the DGA Diverse
Directors Mentorship Program and she has shadowed eight veteran TV directors.
She holds a BFA from NYU Film School and she has written articles about gender
parity in media that have been published in The Huffington Post and other
publications.

A young girl learns what it takes to behave like a woman with a little help from her older cousin, and the beauty industry.

Samantha Shada’s narrative short films, Beauty School and Sexless both premiered at the Oscar Qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival in before screening at festivals across the US. Her music videos appeared on both coasts at festivals in Boston, Los Angeles and beautiful Idyllwild, CA. She also directs and produces theatre in Los Angeles while sitting on the board of incubator Brimmer St. Theatre Co.  Sam collaborates locally with the LA Female Playwrights Initiative, The Blank Theater and Theatre West among others.

Sam grew up in the mountains of Colorado and the plains of Nebraska. After completing her film degree at Emerson College and landing in California she worked with notable companies such as the William Morris Agency, the United Talent Agency, Universal Pictures, Overbrook Entertainment, and Sony Pictures Studios. An activist for women in her industry, Sam runs screenings and social campaigns to raise awareness about influential films directed by women.
 

Best Friend is a family comedy that tells the story of Diedre, a young girl with Down syndrome whom, after moving across the country finds more than a best friend when her parents let her adopt a dog.

Cory Reeder is a writer, director, producer and founder of Renaissance Man Productions. Since moving his company to Los Angeles in 2011, he has been creating music videos for: Hayley Kiyoko, Seether, Martin Solveig, Of Mice & Men, Five Finger Death Punch, and more. In between music video productions, Cory is devoted to directing narrative stories. In 2015, while directing the award-winning short film Unlikely Temptations starring Nic Novicki, Reeder was educated on the lack of representation people with disabilities have in media.
In 2016, his film Boxed Out won actress Diana Elizabeth Jordan the Best Actor Award from the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. In 2017, his entry: Best Friend, was nominated in all categories taking home two awards for Best Film and Audience Awareness Award.

Olive learns all about the birds and the bees when Mocha shows her how the middle school girls play with dolls. But their friendship is tested when Olive's moral code forces the dolls to do the right thing and get married.

Molly Ann Hale is an award winning writer and producer whose short films have premiered at the Hammer Museum’s Flux Screening, won Funny or Die’s first ever Make ‘Em Laff Film competition and garnered millions of views. She’s written and produced branded content for just about every online comedy channel, including Funny or Die, Comedy.com, TV Time, Vimeo.com, AwesomenessTV and Super Deluxe. Molly recently helped produce the film Unlovable (2018)  starring academy award nominee John Hawkes, academy award winner Melissa Leo and comedian Charlene deGuzman which premiered at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival, made a bunch of top ten lists and is currently available for free streaming on Amazon Prime. 


Suzi Yoonessi

Award-winning director Suzi Yoonessi’s second feature film Unlovable (2018) premiered at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival, winning a Special Jury Prize and rave reviews. The film stars academy award nominee John Hawkes, academy award winner Melissa Leo and comedian Charlene deGuzman, and it won the 2017 Sun Valley Film Festival Film Lab. Yoonessi’s feature film Dear Lemon Lima (2009) premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The film was released by Phase 4 Films, HBO, Showtime and The Sundance Channel. Yoonessi most recently directed Daphne and Velma (2018) for Warner Brother’s Blue Ribbon Content, which is the origins story of two female super sleuths from Scooby Doo.
Yoonessi was recently nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Directing of go90’s Relationship Status. In addition to episodic, Yoonessi directs branded, short and commercial spots for Funny or Die, Condé Nast, Smart Girls, Attn:, Portal A, Retrofit and Super Deluxe. Yoonessi was nominated for a Streamy Award for her International Women’s Day spot #OwnYourVoice.
